Laser hair removal is a collective term for the utilization of lasers for the purpose of permanent hair reduction. Hair removal lasers selectively deliver laser light to dark hairs. This light causes the dark hairs to become heated; this heat travels down the hair shaft into the hair follicle and disrupts it, preventing future hair growth. Since gray/white, blonde, and red hairs have little or no dark melanin pigment, laser hair removal is not considered effective in treating these hair colors.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

SEDA uses various lasers for hair removal. These are the most pain-free lasers available, and the laser energy produced by them is non-ablative, meaning it will not injure the skin surface or connective tissues during treatment. All the lasers SEDA utilizes can effectively and safely treat ALL skin types.

Because body hair grows in three different stages, it takes multiple sessions in order to clear selected areas. At our spa, we offer treatment packages that can keep your skin silky and smooth for good.

About 20% of body hair is in the anagen (active growth) stage at any given time. During the hair removal treatment, the hair follicles in the anagen stage will be destroyed. The hair growth cycle is every six to eight weeks for the body and four to six weeks for the face. We suggest our clients schedule treatments six to eight weeks apart to achieve the best permanent hair reduction results. It can take as little as six treatments, to as many as twelve treatments, for permanent removal of up to 95% of the unwanted hair.
